Manavgat, the second largest district of Antalya, is a quiet and pretty town surrounded by Taurus Mountains from the north. Being a much quieter and more peaceful town compared to the popular districts attracting too many tourists in Antalya, Manavgat is one of the first preferred destinations for those looking for silence and serenity during their vacation. There is a lot to visit in this peaceful town, behind of where paramount shadow of Taurus Mountains casts and the face of which greets the Mediterranean. Above all are the waterfalls, which are the first to come to mind when it comes to Manavgat.

 

Manavgat is like a paradise for those who do not want to limit their vacations with the trio of sea, sun and sand. If you wonder which season is the best time to visit Manavgat, we can say that it is the summer. Because you can also enjoy swimming and sunbathing to the fullest in the summer. The statistics show that the district attracts the most tourists in June and July. However, it is a district welcoming its visitors also in May and September, i.e., in spring and autumn.

Ancient City of Side

You do not realize how the time flies in the theater, agora, temples, baths and columned street of the ancient city of Side, a region bearing the traces of the Roman period and is pulsed with history. Side Museum

Agora Bath, which was an extremely magnificent structure in the Roman period, serves as Side Museum today. If you happen to pass by Side, you must visit Side Museum before you go back. The striking sculptures, sarcophagi and many other artifacts in the museum consist of artifacts unearthed during the excavations in Side, and must be seen.

 

 

Manavgat Strait 

Manavgat Strait, where Manavgat Stream, feeding Manavgat Waterfall, meets with Mediterranean, must also be visited.  Manavgat Strait, where Manavgat Stream, giving life to famous Manavgat Waterfall, reaches Mediterranean, is a must-visit spot. Manavgat River, which was called Melas in ancient times, is about 93 kilometers long, and forms a strait on the coast before flowing into Mediterranean. This strait also has great contribution to tourism.  

 

Titreyen Lake

Titreyen Lake is one of the most visited spots in the region. If you want to be close both to the lake and the sea, then Titreyen Lake is the right choice for you. The lake is located very close to the sea. There are also many hotels by the lake. There is a high demand for these hotels especially in the summer.  Attracting the attention of tourists with its nature and serenity, Titreyen Lake is one of the tributaries of Manavgat River.

 

 

Koprulu Canyon National Park

You must stop by Koprulu Canyon once you are in Manavgat. You can have pleasant time and relax in this canyon with fascinating nature. Koprulu Canyon is also a rare boon for rafting enthusiasts . There are too many groups coming here from Antalya and surrounding areas for rafting.

 

 

 

Ancient City of Selge

Selge is like a sad child in the bosom of Taurus Mountains. Selge, the magnificent and rich Pisidian city, both enchants and saddens the visitors with its nature, structures and theater, which all evoke admiration. You must visit this city, which is in love with the Taurus Mountains at an altitude of 1250 meters.
